PROGRAMME

The project includes the study of new types of vertical housing to be located in two strategic development areas in Milan and Rome. The height of the new residential towers is ranging from 120 to 150 m with floor areas of around 600 sqm.

The typical floor plan is on three levels, to allow each apartment to look out on three sides, with living rooms and bedrooms with terraces. In fact, they are single-family houses suspended in the air and surrounded by bioclimatic greenhouses that compose the façades.

Aiming to a functional stratification target, which avoids phenomena of social isolation, the residential units are accompanied in the lower floors by retail and office areas, recreational spaces or even smaller size apartments for social housing.

Common amenities are placed at the ground and first floor of the towers, while the size of the apartments becomes larger and larger from bottom to top. At last attics with roof gardens are crowning the buildings.

The glazed facade system combined with terraces protected with movable glass louvers, allow some duplex units to play with double height windows and balconies, so as to have optimum ventilation and daylight for the development of trees in the winter gardens.
